Does david die in shadow and bone books?
David is actually alive at the end of the final book in the Shadow and Bone trilogy, Ruin and Rising.
David's fate has been written in Bardugo's books but the lack of an obvious death in the show means it is not necessarily the case that he's already dead in Shadow and Bone. Shadow and Bone Season 2 is out on Netflix now.

There were too many plot points, too many characters, and too many details to keep track of. Even said superfans might find themselves a bit befuddled! The changes from the books were sometimes absolutely insane. The way the season ends with various couples remixed played out like unhinged fan fiction.
The Darkling is the primary antagonist of the series, but he is considered the most powerful Grisha of all. As a Shadow Summoner, he can manipulate darkness to create solid objects and creatures.
This is because it isn't adapting one book series, but three different ones all at once: the Shadow and Bone trilogy, the Six of Crows duology and The King of Scars duology. Both the Six of Crows and King of Scars duologies take place after the conclusion of Shadow and Bone.
Can I read Six of Crows without Shadow and Bone?
Six of Crows can be read without Shadow and Bone except a few minor spoilers and cameos you might miss but honestly I didn't even notice and if you take a little break between reading the books, or just don't read every page super carefully, you might miss the mentions and not even be spoiled.
Between the novels Siege and Storm and Ruin and Rising, on which season 2 is largely based, Alina loses her Sun Summoner powers completely for a time after a fight with Kirigan. She also ends up gaining a piece of the Darkling's power and vice versa.
But then she finds out he's actually using her to gain control of the Fold and rule the country, so she flees. Despite his nefarious plans, it is thought the Darkling did love Alina. However, Alina ends up killing him at the end of Ruin and Rising.
Four months after Alina Starkov discovers she's pregnant, the father of her unborn child finds her hiding place.
Personal life. In the acknowledgements section of Six of Crows, Bardugo reveals she has osteonecrosis and sometimes needs to use a cane; this was a source of inspiration for one of the story's six protagonists, master thief and gang boss Kaz Brekker, who uses a cane.
Nina first thought Hanne was a Heartrender, but it appeared to be that Hanne was a Healer. The two become very close, eventually working together at the end of King of Scars to begin to bring down Jarl Brum. Nina is in love with Hanne and they are engaged to be married.
Kaz is not Grisha, nor is he a soldier, an assassin, a spy, or a sharpshooter — he's a club owner with a sharp sense of style and a trademark cane in the shape of a crow. But he is still Shadow and Bone's most dangerous player.
However, the King is still quite powerful, and he uses his power to sexually abuse and manipulate his servants: Genya reveals that the King forces many of his female servants, including her, to sleep with him. Female Grisha are also warned to lock their doors at night, presumably against the King.
After Genya goes through adolescence, Alexander begins to rape Genya. He does so regularly throughout her teenage years.
Why can t Genya use breathing?
In the simplest terms, the reason that Genya can't use Breathing Styles stems from his inability to achieve the total concentration breathing that other demon slayers use in order to access their abilities.
While searching for the last amplifier, Mal and Alina find out the truth about Mal's heritage. He is descended from Baghra's sister, making him a great-nephew of the Darkling.
In this adaptation, Mal is Inej´s brother. Inej doesn't have a brother in the book series.
Mal is not Grisha and doesn't have any of the Grisha powers. This is the same as in the book series. As we find out in episode 2 and episode 4 of the show, children in Ravka are tested at a young age for Grisha powers.
Book Mal did graciously offer to step aside and let Alina marry Nikolai, and Inej leaves the Crows at the end of Crooked Kingdom to reunite with her parents.
Zoya was initially infatuated with the Darkling. Upon Alina's arrival at the Little Palace, Zoya instantly hates her for becoming the Darkling's new favorite, and expresses her jealousy by cheating during a duel and injuring Alina.
POWERS: No doubt about it, Zoya has the most power out of any character in this universe.
Before pursuing his vendetta any further, Inej demands answers, with Kaz revealing that Pekka killed his brother.
In the book version, The Darkling used merzost to transform Nikolai into a unique beast. Darkness spread through his veins, and he sprouted wings, fangs, and talons. He lost the ability to speak and developed a hunger for human flesh, but he isn't entirely gone.
Conservatively, therefore, Alina could live for at least a century in Shadow and Bone but potentially even longer. Alina could perhaps live as long as the Darkling, who has walked the earth for at least 500 years.
Who is the Darkling wife?

In the beginning, the Darkling and Alina felt drawn to one another. Before Alina left the Little Palace, the Darkling kissed her abruptly by the lake, after he told her about the stag he was hunting.
For the book character, see Nina Zenik. Nina Zenik is a Heartrender for the Second Army and a spy for The Darkling.
A picture of him in Baghra's cave reveals the man hasn't physically aged a day in centuries. The Shadow Fold was created roughly 400 years prior to the events of the series and the Darkling was already an adult by then. An estimate would put him at 500 years of age, if not a bit older.
Although she knows that Genya is on the Darkling's side, Alina cannot bring herself to hurt her and tells Genya that she forgives both her and David.
(Note, Alina doesn't have her scar removed by Genya in the book, unlike the show, wanting to keep the memory of cutting her hand when she first realised she was in love with Mal.)
Shadow and Bone
It is revealed that Alina had been subconsciously suppressing her power when she was tested as a child in Keramzin for signs of Grisha ability. It was as though she knew that if she was found to be a Grisha, she would be taken away from her best friend, Mal.
Luda demonstrated powerful healing abilities. She was able to heal the Darkling from a distance.
In the cold open for episode seven, "The Unsea," the audience finally learns more about General Kirigan (also referred to as "the Darkling"). The show flashes back hundreds of years and shows how General Aleksander Kirigan was once in love with a healer named Luda.
Zoya destroys the remains of The Darkling when she realizes what is happening, but The Darkling's spirit goes into the body of a man named Yuri Vendenen. So, while The Darkling does return in some form, he does not return in the one that people recognize him as.
Genya is alive at the end of Shadow and Bone season 2 — likely a bit traumatized from recent events, but still kicking.
Is David Autistic Shadow and Bone?

This fantasy series incorporates David Kostyk's tendencies in a way that makes it clear: David is autistic.
A distressed Alina chooses Mal, and Kirigan decapitates the mythic stag as a grieving Alina watches on. Kirigin forces David (Luke Pasqualino) to fuse the stag's antlers into Alina's upper chest, but they don't fully absorb into her body. Horrifyingly, the antlers remain protruding out of her clavicles.
Summoner. Saint. The nation's fate rests with a broken Sun Summoner, a disgraced tracker, and the shattered remnants of a once-great magical army. The Darkling rules from his shadow throne while a weakened Alina Starkov recovers from their battle under the dubious protection of the zealots who worship her as a Saint.
After being attacked by nichevo'ya, or the nothings, her skin is scarred all over, and she has one remaining eye.
Through this, it becomes clear that appearances can be deceiving and Genya is not a demon. However, he does have certain unique powers that allows him to temporarily take on the appearance of a demon, along with gaining some of their powers.
This is not a usual adaptation, as two novels were used in the first and second seasons — at the same time. The show is named after the trilogy Shadow and Bone, but also features characters and storylines from Six of Crows. This can be somewhat confusing to newcomers but extremely exciting to the book fans.
How are both of these series connected? The Shadow and Bone Trilogy is set in Ravka and the Six of Crows Duology is set in Ketterdam, two countries within the Grishaverse. Six of Crows begins two years after the events of the final book in the Shadow and Bone trilogy.

During the Shadow Fold crossing, volcra attack the sandskiff, but Alina lets out a burst of light killing the volcra in order to save Malyen. Better known as the Sun Summoner, Alina is the protagonist of the series. As one of the most powerful Grisha, she is the only one capable of saving Ravka from the Fold.
While they manage early on to find and kill the ice dragon Rusalye, aka the sea whip, it takes them until the end of the season to realize that the final amplifier, the firebird, is actually Mal.
